Dibdin was an English dramatist, actor and songwriter. His son Charles Isaac Mungo Pitt wrote plays and pantomimes and was for some time proprietor and manager of Sadler's Wells Theatre. A younger son, Thomas John Pitt, also took the name Dibdin about 1800.
